Dr Katharine Vincent
Katharine started her career as an English teacher in east London and went on to hold a number of senior roles in several London secondary schools. She was previously a member of the senior leadership team at Mulberry School for Girls and is delighted to have returned to the Mulberry Schools Trust as Principal of Mulberry UTC. Katharine has a masters and a doctorate in education and has extensive knowledge of teaching and learning, education policy, school leadership and teacher education.
Katharine is passionate about providing all young people with access to the best possible educational opportunities. As Principal of Mulberry UTC, she will work closely with the staff, governors, students and parents to ensure the UTC provides outstanding academic and technical learning and that it makes a positive contribution to the local community.
Before taking up the role of Vice Principal at Mulberry UTC, Sally was Head of Humanities at Mulberry School for Girls, having previously led the citizenship and social science departments. Sally is passionate about creating a culture of global citizenship, both within the classroom and across the school, and has led several extra-curricular programmes including Model United Nations.
As Vice Principal at Mulberry UTC, Sally will ensure that students’ well-being is a priority for all, through providing a safe, secure and supportive learning environment. In addition, she will support our staff to develop as experts and innovators, so that the UTC can providing a cutting-edge learning experience for all its students.
Acting Vice Principal
Ruthana started her teaching career on the Teach First Leadership Development Programme specialising in Biology. Since 2014 she has worked as a Lead Practitioner and a Director of Learning, focusing on the development of teaching and learning both within science and across the curriculum. Ruthana has a Masters in Leadership; her thesis focused on leadership of continuing professional development.
As Acting Vice Principal at Mulberry UTC, Ruthana will support students to achieve the best possible grades in their external exams, by ensuring that day-to-day operations are smooth running, as well as by working with students and teachers to drive performance and standards.
Director of Progress
Before starting his teaching career David worked at Jaguar Cars for five years in marketing and advertising and has also worked for Ford Motor Company in human resources. David has over 7 years’ experience working in inner city London schools teaching a variety of subjects and specialising in post 16 education. David has leadership experience in both pastoral (Head of House) and curriculum (Head of Faculty) roles.
David has also lived and worked overseas for three years teaching English as a foreign language and progressed to become a teacher trainer. He taught in India, Japan, Australia and Brazil. As Director of Progress, David will support students towards reaching their educational goals and having a great overall experience whilst studying at Mulberry UTC.

Marisa has taught in Tower Hamlets for the last five years and has a track record of establishing outstanding pastoral support systems. She has led year groups from years 10-13 and is experienced in supporting students to be successful with university applications and progression to apprenticeships and employment.
Marisa is committed to social mobility and to ensuring that all students are able to achieve their career ambitions. She is looking forward to taking up her role as Director of Progress at Mulberry UTC and working with rest of the team to ensure that students from the UTC are highly sought after by universities and future employers.
